To quote a dear departed colleague at the very end of his Camino in 2010:
“With good planning, clear goals for each day, a good mood and a damn stubborn will, it’s impossible to implement! Right?”.
The plan for this summer is to walk the Camino Frances from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (“St. John at the Foot of the Pass”) on the French side of the Pyrenees across northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela – probably the most well-known and well-travelled of all pilgrim roads to Santiago. The route is some 778km (483miles) long and I have 5 weeks available in which to complete it – the flights are booked!
1 week and one day before flying out and I am very much more reliant on the “damn stubborn will” than the “good planning”!
The remainder of today will be to pop out and acquire some clothes for the trip and maybe have a dry-run at packing the rucksack – I am feeling very much unprepared…
